The three-story building sits upon an elevated platform and below a canopy, both of which extend far beyond the museum's walls, creating a shaded veranda and plazas.

Platform 3750 Hard Hat Tour and Sunset Pointe Site Visit
Currently under constriction, Platform 3750, a mixed-use development designed by Kobi Karp Architect & Interior Design in West Coconut Grove, a historically Black neighborhood with low income levels, is strategically located next to the Douglas Road Metrorail Station to create a transit oriented community. Doug Philips, Project Manager at The Cornerstone Group, will give us a personalized “hard hat” tour of the site as well as a tour of newly completed Sunset Pointe II, another affordable housing development.

Brickell City Centre Tour
Situated in the epicenter of South Florida’s international trade and finance corridor, Brickell City Centre is a landmark mixed-use development in downtown Miami from Hong Kong based Swire Properties Inc. The project's first phase includes a premium shopping complex anchored by department store Saks Fifth Avenue, two residential towers REACH and RISE, the first EAST hotel in the United States, and two mid-rise office towers called Two Brickell City Centre and Three Brickell City Centre, as well as carefully planned public spaces. Phase one of the project opened in 2016. David Martin, Vice President of Retail and Regina Lacayo, Senior Manager of PR & Community Relations, both of Swire Properties will give us a personalized tour and present on BCC’s sustainable design and urban living appeal.

Historic Virginia Key Beach Tour & Presentation
Miami’s Once “Colored Only Beach”, Historic Virginia Beach Key Park was founded in 1945. Led by Ecology and History Education Outreach Coordinator Charlie Weyman, we will learn the racial history of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park as well as its environmental efforts. The Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Trust is committed to the preservation and ongoing maintenance of the barrier island’s natural eco-systems. The unique plant and endangered animal varieties that converge at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park give testament to some of the oldest surviving flora and fauna species in South Florida.

Resilient305 Strategy Presentation
Traveling to Downtown Miami, we will visit the Stephen P. Clark Government Center for a presentation of the Resilient305 Strategy. The Resilient305 Strategy leverages the characteristics that are intrinsic to its communities to create economic, environmental and community resilience that will withstand external shocks, such as natural disasters, public health crises and severe economic downturns. Next, Miami Herald climate change journalist, Alex Harris will moderate a lively discussion between the Chief Resilience Officers of the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, and the City of Miami Beach.

The Underline Walking Tour
Meg Daly, Founder of Friends of The Underline will guide us through how The Underline is transforming the land below Miami’s Metrorail into a 10‑mile linear park, urban trail, and public art destination. Flourishing native grasses, trees and flowers that attract butterflies, bees and birds, this landscape is also designed to mitigate stormwater flooding.
At the end of the tour of Phase 1 of the Underline, we will have lunch at the picnic benches provided by The Underline.

Miami Beach Art Deco Resilient Presentation & Walking Tour
Daniel Ciraldo, Executive Director of the Miami Design Preservation League, will present on the findings of the last Historic Properties Resiliency Workshop and what MDPL is doing to combat sea-level rise. Next, Mark Gordon, MDPL Tour Director, will lead us on a walking tour of South Beach's iconic Art Deco hotels.
